Details: Responsible for risk selection of new and renewal accounts according to established underwriting guidelines.  Manages assigned book of business to achieve targeted financial results based on premium growth, premium retention, pricing, and profitability.  The underwriter obtains necessary information, identifies exposures and analyzes data to determine acceptability and adequate pricing of risk. Negotiates terms and pricing of quotations with producers. Identifies the need for facultative reinsurance on an individual account basis and secures reinsurance as required. The underwriter is responsible for agency management as the key contact for producers and communicates with producers to build relationships, explain the underwriting appetite and guidelines or to answer general underwriting questions. Assumes the lead role on the service team to execute specific service initiatives with larger customers. Provides guidance and direction to Underwriting Service Technicians and Associate Underwriters.
